Alabama Track and Field Gets Outdoor Season Started with Jaguar Opener

The Crimson Tide is sending 19 men and women to the meet that will be held on the South Alabama campus
MOBILE, Ala. – Just days after both its men's and women's teams closed the indoor season with top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, the Alabama track and field team gets the outdoor season cranked up this Friday at the Jaguar Opener.
The meet will be held on Jaguar Track on the South Alabama campus in Mobile, Ala. The field events get underway at 2 p.m. CT, while the running portion of the meet starts at 5:30 p.m. CT.
The Crimson Tide is sending a contingent of 13 women and six men to the meet that will include teams from UAB, Belhaven, Indiana Tech, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley, Mobile, Spring Hill, UT-Tyler and West Alabama as well as the host school.
Alabama will compete in the men's and women's pole vault as well as the 400 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters as well as the 4x400 meter relays.
