From Coach Curry
- "To come back out and rebound the ball the way we did and get some looks in transition that started with defending the glass, it really made a big difference for us," said head coach Kristy Curry. "I really liked the way we came out after the half, I thought we were a little sluggish in the first half by not getting some loose balls and not boxing out backside. In the second half, I liked our balance and the fact that everybody got minutes. Our young kids need minutes to get better and we put ourselves in a position to be able to allow that tonight."
Quarter-By-Quarter
- The first quarter started out slow with the score tied 12-12 with 3:53 left to play. Alabama surged ahead with a 10-0 run to close out the quarter and take a 22-12 advantage after the first 10 minutes of play.
- SLU cut the Tide's lead to four points in the second quarter, but UA again went on a scoring run to take a 38-28 lead at the half.
- The Lady Lions knocked down a three to begin the third quarter, but the Tide offense heated up, going on a 18-2 scoring run to push Alabama's lead to 58-35 with 4:36 remaining. UA closed the quarter out on a 10-2 run to extend its lead to 68-37. The Crimson Tide outscored the Lady Lions 30-9 in the third.
- The Tide continued to build on its lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring SLU 19-13 to notch UA's fifth consecutive victory, 87-50.
