Crimson Tide Readies for Radford on Friday Night

Alabama and the Highlanders will tip off at 7 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama hosts the Radford Highlanders on Friday night at 7 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum for its final game before the holiday break. The Crimson Tide (8-3) has won its last three contests, while the Highlanders (2-6) have dropped their last four games. This is the first meeting between the two programs.

• The Tide has scored by committee with six different players averaging 7.8 points or more on the season. Leading the charge is redshirt junior guard Jordan Lewis with 12.6 points, while junior Jasmine Walker is putting up 10 points per contest.
• The Crimson Tide is 6-1 all-time against current Big South teams, with its only loss coming earlier this season to Hampton.
• In the win over North Carolina sophomore Brittany Davis dropped a career-high 23 points on an impressive 10-of-12 shooting, which earned her multiple awards and recognition. On Monday (Dec. 16), College Sports Madness named Davis the National Player of the Week for her performance. On Tuesday (Dec. 17), the Southeastern Conference tabbed Davis as the SEC POW and then on Wednesday (Dec. 18), the NCAA placed her on the Starting Five, which is the top 5 players in the country for the week.
• With three blocks against UNC (12/15), senior Ashley Knight passed Alabama great Yolanda Watkins for the most blocks in UA history. She currently has 193 career blocks, which is the most actively in the SEC. Knight already has more blocks this season (24), than she did all of last season (20). Knight still holds the single season block record with 90 her freshman year.
• Alabama ranks fourth in the SEC and 20th in the nation in free throws attempted, while coming in at No. 3 in the conference and No. 14 in the country in free throw makes. The team is also fourth in the SEC in free throw percentage at 70.6 percent. Alabama ranks fourth in the SEC in three different categories from the three-point line, including attempts, makes and makes per game.
• The Alabama bench has outscored its opponents, 366-184, in 10 games this season. The reserves have accounted for 45 percent of the Tide's scoring, with its third and fourth scorers in senior Cierra Johnson (9.0) and Davis (8.5) leading the way.

• The Highlanders come into Friday's game with a 2-6 record, including a 2-4 mark on the road.
• Radford has one player averaging double figures in Khiana Johnson, who is putting up 10.6 points and 4.5 assists per game.
• Head Coach Mike McGuire is in his seventh season and has a 118-81 record at RU. Last season, McGuire led the Highlanders to a 26-7 record that earned the team a No. 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Radford lost in the first round to No. 3 seed Maryland, 73-51.
