Alabama Volleyball Closes Regular Season with Home Matches Against Georgia Wednesday, Auburn Saturday

SCOUTING ALABAMA
- Alabama is 12-15 overall and 4-12 in Southeastern Conference play with two matches remaining in its regular season slate
- Junior Kaylee Thomas is ranked fifth in the league in digs (401, 4.09/set) and recently became the 14th player in UA history to surpass 1,000 career digs
- Freshman Alyiah Wells is fifth in the league in blocks (100, 1.12/set) and eighth in hitting percentage (.326), the only freshman ranked in the top 10 for either category
- Junior Doris Carter leads the team with five double-doubles and has finished with 10 or more kills in six of the last nine matches
- The Crimson Tide returns 11 players from last season's team, including starters Doris Carter, Meghan Neelon, Kaylee Thomas, Ginger Perinar and Hayley McSparin

- Alabama dropped both of its matches last weekend, falling on the road to Tennessee Friday before taking a home loss to LSU Sunday
- Alabama battled in a narrow two-point loss to Tennessee in the opening set, 26-24, before the Lady Vols won back-to-back frames, 25-16 and 25-18, to cap the sweep
- Senior Hayley McSparin tallied a team-leading nine kills hitting .562 with no errors on 16 swings vs. UT
- Returning to Foster Auditorium on Sunday, Alabama dropped the three-set decision to LSU by set scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-15
- For the second-straight match, McSparin led the Crimson Tide offense with nine kills, adding a pair of solo blocks on defense

KAYLEE THOMAS SURPASSES 1,000 CAREER DIGS
- During the Nov. 15 match at Missouri, junior Kaylee Thomas earned her 1,000th career dig
- She is the 14th player in program history to reach the milestone and the third in the last three seasons, joining former teammates Quincey Gary (2015-18) and Natalie Murison (2014-17)
- With 1,020 digs, Thomas is ranked 12th all-time at UA and is 32 behind 11th-place Kristye Hall (1989-92)
- Thomas' 3.10 digs-per-set average ranks eighth all-time at UA
HAYLEY MCSPARIN CLOSES IN ON 1,000 CAREER KILLS
- Senior Hayley McSparin surpassed the 900-career-kills mark in the Oct. 18 match against LSU and currently sits at 972
- She is the 18th player in program history to break the 900-kill mark and the first since Kat Hutson (2014-16), who sits three kills ahead of McSparin in UA's career rankings
- McSparin is also among the top 10 at Alabama in career attack percentage (8th - .300), total blocks (8th - 352), solo blocks (6th - 72) and block assists (9th - 280)
- She is just the fifth player in program history to rank in the top 10 in each of those categories
FINDING A HOME AT FOSTER
- Since moving back into a renovated Foster Auditorium in 2011, Alabama has compiled an 86-44 (.662) record on its home court
- Seven of the last eight seasons have seen double-digit win totals, including a program-best 12 in 2016
- Attendance has surged since the Tide's move back to Foster Auditorium as well, welcoming over 12,000 fans in five of the last seven seasons after surpassing 10,000 just once prior to 2011
