Volleyball Heads to Athens for Sunday Road Match Against Georgia

SCOUTING ALABAMA
- Alabama is 10-4 overall and 2-1 in Southeastern Conference play after a road win Wednesday against in-state rival Auburn
- Four of Alabama's next six matches will be away from home, but the Tide will then close out the regular season with six of its nine matches in Foster Auditorium
- Six of the Alabama's 10 victories this season have been sweeps
- Freshman Alyiah Wells is ranked in the top 10 in the SEC in blocks (2nd - 60) and hitting percentage (7th - .362) while junior Kaylee Thomas is fifth in digs (210)
- The Crimson Tide returns 11 players from last season's team, including starters Doris Carter, Meghan Neelon, Kaylee Thomas, Ginger Perinar and Hayley McSparin
- Eight newcomers join the roster, including six freshmen and two graduate transfers

LAST TIME OUT: BIG SCORING RUNS PUSH ALABAMA OVER AUBURN
- Alabama won the opening set over Auburn, 25-23, and used a pair of huge comebacks in the second to take a 2-0 match lead. The comeback included a 12-3 run giving the Crimson Tide a 17-16 lead and six-straight points to close out the set at 25-23
- The Tigers avoided the sweep with a 25-18 win in the third, but another big scoring run in the fourth helped give Alabama the lead for good, winning 25-20 to complete the four-set win
- Freshman Alyiah Wells and senior Ginger Perinar both tallied double-digit kills with 14 and 12, respectively, and senior Hayley McSparin hit .462 with eight kills along with four blocks
- Freshman Emily Janek finished with a season-best 45 assists while junior Kaylee Thomas dug a career-best 24 balls

MOVING UP THE UA CAREER RANKS
- Senior Hayley McSparin is already among the top 10 at Alabama in career attack percentage (7th - .304) and solo blocks (8th - 63), just three shy of moving up to 7th in the latter. She is currently eight total blocks and three block assists shy of moving into the top 10 in those respective categories
- With 849 career digs, junior Kaylee Thomas is tied at No. 20 all-time at UA and is 37 shy of moving up to 19th. Her 2.95 digs-per-set average ranks 10th
CAREER WIN NO. 300 FOR HEAD COACH LINDSEY DEVINE
- The Sept. 14 win over Alcorn State marked career win No. 300 for head coach Lindsey Devine
- She currently owns a 302-222 (.576) mark, posting a 292-218 record in 16 seasons at East Tennessee State and a 10-4 mark in her first season at the helm of the Crimson Tide
