Alabama Gets Back in Action with Exhibition Against Auburn-Montgomery on Sunday

The Crimson Tide will take on the Warhawks at 2:30 p.m. following the men’s basketball exhibition for charity
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team starts its 2019-20 campaign with its lone exhibition of the season against Auburn-Montgomery on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum, in preparation for its season opener against Hampton on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
The Crimson Tide will play against the Warhawks following the men's charity exhibition against Georgia Tech. UA last played Auburn-Montgomery on Nov. 6, 2011 in an exhibition with the Tide coming out with the dominant 81-27 victory.
Back in Action
• The 2019-20 Alabama roster returns 11 players from last year's team, which is tied for the most with Kentucky for the most in the SEC.
• UA has four of five starters returning, along with redshirt juniors Jordan Lewis and Shelby Gibson, and redshirt senior Amber Richardson who sat out a season ago. The Tide also returns 84.4 percent of its scoring from last year.
• Alabama has nine of its top 10 scorers returning from last season including its top three scorers in senior Cierra Johnson (14.7 ppg), Lewis (13.5 ppg) and junior Jasmine Walker (12.4 ppg). The Tide also has four of five starters from a year ago, including Johnson, sophomore Megan Abrams, Walker and junior Ariyah Copeland.
The Difference a Year Makes
• Alabama went from being the 11th-youngest team in the country entering the 2018-19 season, to one of the most experienced teams in the SEC this year.
• The Crimson Tide finished last year with several players on the sidelines, including Lewis, Benjamin, Abrams, all sitting out due to injury, while Richardson and Gibson redshirted. All five are back and ready to go for UA.
