No. 13 Alabama Women's Golf Set to Travel Back to North Carolina for the Landfall Tradition

Crimson Tide will play in its final tournament of the fall season starting Friday
TUSCALOOSA Ala. – In the final tournament of the fall, the No. 13-ranked Alabama women's golf team will head to Wilmington, N.C., for the 18th annual Landfall Tradition, Oct. 25-27, at the Country Club of Landfall.
Alabama will be paired with Oklahoma State and Illinois for the first round of the Landfall Tradition. The trio will start off No. 1 with the first group teeing off at 8:30 a.m. CT Friday on the Par 72, 6,166-yard Pete Dye Course.
Tournament Info
- The 18-team field contains 13 teams ranked among the top-50, led by No. 9 South Carolina and No. 10 Michigan State.
- The Landfall Tradition field includes host UNC Wilmington, Alabama, Central Florida, Florida State, Furman, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
About Alabama
- Alabama's starting five include senior Kenzie Wright, juniors Polly Mack and Angelica Moresco, and freshmen Caroline Curtis and Emilie Øverås.
- In three tournaments this season, the Crimson Tide have turned in an eighth place showing (295-294-292/881) at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Sept. 16-18 and two runner-up finishes at the Schooner Fall Classic (284-282-281/847) on Sept. 27-29, and at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational (283-280-290/853) on Oct. 13-15.
- Wright has led the team by shooting seven rounds of par or lower this season. Mack follows with five rounds of par or under and Moresco follows closely with four rounds.
- Last time out at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, Wright placed second finishing the tournament at 3-under par 207. Wright (70-69-68) recorded the team-best 40 pars on the week to complement 12 birdies. The second-lowest scorer, Moresco (69-69-76), finished 4-over par 214 to place tied for 13th.
- Two years ago, Alabama (278-285/563) took home second place behind Duke (277-285/562) after the third round was cancelled due to unplayable conditions at the 2017 Landfall Tradition (Oct. 27-29, 2017).
- The Crimson Tide shot 3-under par 285 in the second round to finish the tournament at 13-under par 563.
