SCOUTING ALABAMA
- Alabama is 11-7 overall and 3-4 in Southeastern Conference play with 11 matches remaining in its regular season slate
- After this weekend's road swing at Florida and South Carolina, the Tide will close out the remainder of its schedule with six of the final nine matches at Foster Auditorium
- In conference-only matches, Alabama leads the SEC in digs (421, 15.59/set) and junior Kaylee Thomas ranks third individually in that category (282, 4.34/set)
- In overall stats, Thomas is ranked third in the league in digs (421, 15.59/set) while freshman Alyiah Wells is fourth in blocks (67, 1.08/set)
- Junior Doris Carter and freshman Emily Janek lead the team with three double-doubles each, with all three of Janek's coming in SEC play
- The Crimson Tide returns 11 players from last season's team, including starters Doris Carter, Meghan Neelon, Kaylee Thomas, Ginger Perinar and Hayley McSparin

LAST TIME OUT: ALABAMA FALLS TO LSU, KENTUCKY
- Last Friday in Baton Rouge, Alabama fell by identical 25-19 scores to LSU in the first two sets before winning the third by the same score to send the match to a fourth set
- The Tide would draw within a point three times during the fourth frame but the Tigers maintained their lead each time, eventually winning 25-21 to end the match
- Senior Hayley McSparin led the offensive effort with a season-high 13 kills, pushing her past the 900 kills mark for her career
- Freshman setter Emily Janek tallied her third double-double of the season with 41 assists and 11 digs
- Juniors Kaylee Thomas and Doris Carter also finished the match with double-digit digs, posting a team-leading 23 and a career-best 16, respectively
- Returning to Tuscaloosa on Sunday, Alabama dropped the opening set to 16th-ranked Kentucky, 25-7, but fought a closer second set, tying the score four times but ultimately falling 25-17 and the Wildcats won the third 25-7 to complete the sweep

MCSPARIN MARCHES TOWARDS 1,000 CAREER KILLS
- Senior Hayley McSparin surpassed the 900-career-kills mark in the Oct. 18 match against LSU and currently sits at 917
- She is the 18th player in program history to break the 900 kills mark, the first since Kat Hutson (2014-16)
- With 11 matches remaining on the schedule, an average of 7.55 kills per match would push her past the 1,000 kills mark
ALABAMA WINS VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
- Alabama has won eight matches against ranked opponents in program history, last doing so on Sept. 23, 2016 against Texas A&M
- All but one of the eight victories came at home, with the lone ranked victory away from Tuscaloosa coming on Sept. 7, 2007 against then-No. 13 Ohio in South Bend, Ind.
- The win over the Bobcats is also the only out-of-conference ranked victory

MOVING UP THE UA CAREER RECORDS
- Senior Hayley McSparin is among the top 10 at Alabama in career attack percentage (7th - .305), solo blocks (8th - 63) and block assists (10th - 255)
- McSparin is just one total block shy from moving into the top 10 in that category
- With 921 career digs, junior Kaylee Thomas is No. 16 all-time at UA and is just 11 away from 15th-place Jennifer Miller (1989-92) and 28 from 14th-place Erin Price (2000-03)
- Thomas' 3.05 digs-per-set average ranks ninth
