Alabama Volleyball Travels to Face LSU Friday, Returns Home Hosting Kentucky Sunday

LAST TIME OUT: ALABAMA ENDURES LENGTHY SECOND SET, DEFEATS MISSISSIPPI STATE
- Alabama volleyball earned a four-set win over Mississippi State Wednesday night in Foster Auditorium, including its lengthiest set in over a decade
- Alabama held the lead the entire first set, defeating Mississippi State, 25-18
- The second set extended well past the 25-point mark, with 14 set points before the Bulldogs eventually won, 39-37
- The 76 combined points in the second set is the highest point total for the Crimson Tide since a 42-40 set loss to Ole Miss on Nov. 8, 2007
- With the match tied at 1-1, Alabama rebounded with a more decisive 25-17 win in the third frame before closing out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth
- Five Tide players finished with double-digit kills, led by 15 from senior Ginger Perinar
- Sophomore Erin Curl tallied a career-best 14 kills with junior Doris Carter also earning 14 along with 12 digs for her third double-double of the season
- Sophomore Emily Janek posted her second double-double with 55 assists and 17 digs, both season highs for the setter
- Freshman PG Garrison tied Janek for the team lead on defense with 17 digs, also a season high

- Thomas' 2.99 digs-per-set average ranks ninth
ALABAMA WINS VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
- Alabama has won eight matches against ranked opponents in program history, last doing so on Sept. 23, 2016 against Texas A&M
- All but one of the eight victories came at home, with the lone ranked victory away from Tuscaloosa coming on Sept. 7, 2007 against then-No. 13 Ohio in South Bend, Ind.
- The win over the Bobcats is also the only out-of-conference ranked victory
