Alabama Track and Field Set for Bob Pollock Invitational

The Crimson Tide travels to Clemson, S.C., for its third meet of the indoor season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field teams return to action this weekend at the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C.
The Crimson Tide gets a full slate of events started on Friday at 9:30 a.m. ET, with the heptathlon, while Saturday's events begin at 9 a.m.
"We got some more people out there last weekend in Nashville and had some good performances and now we just want to continue to move forward and get better each week," UA head coach Dan Waters said.
Alabama had a strong showing at last year's Pollock Invitational, including the collegiate debuts of sophomores Tamara Clark and Daija Lampkin in the 200-meter race with two of the fastest times in school history. Junior Shelby McEwen also came away with a win the high jump.
The Crimson Tide men, ranked seventh nationally, and the women, ranked 14th, come into this weekend after tallying four wins and 22 top-eight finishes at the Vanderbilt Invitational in their last outing. Clark led the Tide women, winning the 60 meters and running a leg on UA's first-place 4x400-meter relay. Senior Kord Ferguson (shot put) and sophomore Jake Spotswood (pole vault) both came away with individual wins to lead the men's team.
