SCOUTING ALABAMA (6-0)
- Alabama won all three matches last weekend at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, defeating Navy, Villanova and Dartmouth. The Crimson Tide is 6-0 to start the season for the first time since 2004.
- For their efforts over the weekend, senior Quincey Gary was named to the Kristen Dickman Invitational All-Tournament team while sophomore Doris Carter was the Tournament MVP.
- For the second-straight week, Alabama earned votes outside the top 25 in the AVCA national poll. With 30 votes, the Tide is third amongst teams outside the top 25.
- Head Coach Ed Allen is in his eighth season at the helm of the program in 2018, owning a 140-92 record at UA and a 634-275 overall mark as a head coach.
LAST TIME OUT: ALABAMA CONTINUES WINNING STREAK AT NAVAL ACADEMY
- Alabama 3, Navy 1 (28-26, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23): Alabama was led on the offensive end by sophomore Doris Carter's 19 kills, while junior Ginger Perinar and senior Cidavia Hall also finished in double figures with 14 and 10, respectively. Navy played on its heels in serve receive, as the Tide tallied a season-best eight service aces, four of which came from junior Hayley McSparin. The Highland, Ill., native also led the team with a season-best seven blocks.
- Alabama 3, Villanova 2 (22-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-22, 15-7): After dropping the first two sets, Alabama rallied to win the next three over Villanova to complete the five-set comeback. For the second-straight match sophomore Doris Carter led the team in kills, improving on yesterday's season-high with 21 against the Wildcats. Her 10 digs marked her first double-double with the Tide, finishing as one of five players with double-digit digs. Sophomore Meghan Neelon also earned a double-double, posting 36 assists and 11 digs, along with a career-best four service aces.
- Alabama 3, Dartmouth 0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-17): In Saturday's second match, the Tide needed just three sets to dispatch Dartmouth for the sweep. Alabama hit .289 as a team while the Big Green was held to a .097 clip. Carter paced the offense again, tallying eight kills, while Neelon tied her mark at the service line with four more aces, coming in consecutive possessions in the second set.
WINNING STREAK TO START THE SEASON
- Alabama is 6-0 to start the season, its best start since 2004 when the Tide went 8-0 to start the year.
- This season marks the fourth time Alabama has started the year 6-0 since becoming an NCAA program in 1989. The Tide previously did so in 1998, 2002 and 2004.
- The six-match winning streak is the Tide's longest since posting eight-straight victories last season from Sept. 2-16.
ALABAMA RECEIVING TOP 25 VOTES
- For the second-straight week, Alabama is receiving votes in the AVCA top 25 poll
- The Tide has 30 votes, third among teams listed outside the top 25
- Alabama is the third-highest ranked SEC team, trailing No. 8 Florida and No. 16 Kentucky
- The Tide made its first appearance in the AVCA polls this season in the week one poll, released Aug. 27. It was the program's first appearance in the national rankings since the 2015 preseason poll
- Alabama's first ever appearance in the AVCA rankings came in the week-five poll during the 2014 season. The Tide received votes outside the top 25 in all but one of the remaining polls that season.

GARY AMONG TOP 10 IN CAREER DIGS AT UA
- Senior libero Quincey Gary is tied for ninth in UA history with 1,070 career digs
- She is 71 digs away from the eighth-place mark of 1,141 set by Monica Morales from 1997-2000.
- Gary is one of four Tide athletes in the top 10 coached by Ed Allen, including Natalie Murison (2nd - 1,501), Brittany Thomas (5th - 1,195) and Kryssi Daniels (7th - 1,145).
- The Alexandria, Ind., native also ranks ninth in career digs-per-set at 2.93.

Alabama returns to Foster Auditorium Tuesday, Sept. 11, hosting Samford at 7 p.m. CT. The following weekend, the Tide hosts the Crimson-White Tournament, featuring South Alabama, No. 19 Purdue and Southern Miss. Tournament action begins Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. CT.
