Top-ranked Crimson Tide at 8-under par when play was halted due to lightning
LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The Alabama women's golf team got off to an 8-under par start in the opening round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Monday before play was suspended due to lightning at the par-72, 6,267-yard Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
The first round will resume Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. with the second round to begin immediately following its conclusion.
Alabama is one shot behind Duke (-9). USC (-6), Texas (-2) and Northwestern (-1) were also under par when play was halted at approximately 2 p.m. CT with all 12 teams on the back nine.
UA junior Kenzie Wright, playing in her first event for the Tide, was atop leaderboard at -5 through 15 holes when play was suspended.
