Medal is the third of the summer for UA golfer
SENICA, Slovakia – Alabama's Angelica Moresco fired a 4-under par final round to win the bronze medal at the 2018 European Ladies' Amateur Championship in Senica, Slovakia this weekend.
Moresco (67-71-73-68/279) entered the final round at the Penati Golf Resort in ninth place, four shots out of medal contention, at -5 after a 1-over par third round before clinching the bronze with her fourth round performance.
Spain's Celia Barquin (69-71-63-69/272), who plays collegiately at Iowa State, won the tournament at -16. Germany's Esther Henseleit (64-71-70-68/273) finished second at -15.
The finish is second individual medal Moresco has earned playing for Italy this summer. The Caldogno, Italy, native won a silver medal at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain in June. Moresco also earned a team silver at that event as the Italians finished second in the team standings.
Moresco was also a member of the Italian team that finished fourth at the European Ladies' Team Championship earlier this month in Frohnleiten, Austria.
