Crimson Tide posted one of the top-25 team GPAs in women’s golf in 2017-18
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team has been named to the 2017-18 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division I All-Scholar Team Grade Point Average list, the association announced Wednesday afternoon.
The WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA list recognizes the women's golf programs in each NCAA Division with the top-25 GPAs in the country each season. The Crimson Tide finished the 2017-18 academic year with 3.692 GPA to rank No. 22 in Division I and No. 2 in the Southeastern Conference.
This season is the first since the award's inception in 2005 that the WGCA has honored the top-25 teams in each division. From 2005-2017, the association recognized the 25 best GPAs across all divisions. Alabama was honored three times during that period – 2007-08 (3.552/13th), 2010-11 (3.670/15th) and 2012-13 (3.806/3rd).
