
Day 1 Competition at Alabama Track & Field’s Crimson Tide Invitational Suspended

Heavy rain and lightning forced stoppage, with the meet resuming Saturday at 9 a.m. CT
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The opening day of the 2018 Crimson Tide Invitational at the Sam Bailey Track & Field Complex was suspended Friday evening due to inclement weather in Tuscaloosa.
As a result, the following schedule changes have been instituted for Saturday. All times are Central Daylight:
Women's 5,000 Meters: 9 a.m.
Men's 5,000 Meters: 9:30 a.m.
Men's Javelin: Will follow Women's Javelin, which begins at 2:40 p.m.
Men's and Women's 1,500 Section A: Will run along with B sections beginning at 3:10 p.m.
Men's and Women's 10,000 Meters: Cancelled, will not be rescheduled.
The remainder of the Saturday schedule is unchanged.
In Friday's only completed event involving the Crimson Tide, junior Daniel Haugh won the men's hammer throw with a toss of 226-8 (69.08m) on his first attempt of the competition. The event was shortened from six rounds to three due to weather.
