Alabama Track & Field Hosts Crimson Tide Invitational Friday and Saturday

Two-day meet will be UA’s only home appearance in 2018
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's track & field teams will host their lone home meet of the 2018 outdoor season this weekend. The Crimson Tide Invitational presented by Beynon Sports will take place April 6-7 at the Sam Bailey Track & Field Complex. Among the teams scheduled to compete are Clemson, Louisville, Mississippi State and Oklahoma.
Friday's schedule will kick off at 3:30 p.m. CT with the women's hammer throw and conclude with the men's 10,000 meters at 10:30 p.m. Saturday's events get underway at 9:10 a.m. CT with the women's discus and will conclude with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 3:50 p.m.
Alabama in USTFCCCA Rankings
The Alabama men's track & field team is No. 8, while the Crimson Tide women check in at No. 23 in the first regular season U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor rankings, released April 2.

"This will be our first opportunity to really compete as a team outdoors this season. We'll have our full squad in action and it's always exciting for our team get a chance to compete in front of our fans and their fellow students. We'll be a little over a month out from the SEC Championships so this weekend really begins our drive towards the championship portion of our schedule."
