No. 8 Alabama Men’s Golf Tees it up at Aggie Invitational This Weekend

Crimson Tide coming off first-place finish at Linger Longer Invitational
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The eighth-ranked University of Alabama men's golf team will travel to Bryan, Texas, to compete at the 2018 Aggie Invitational. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8, on the par-72, 7,146-yard Traditions Golf Club.
This marks the Tide's second appearance in the event, which began back in 2005. Alabama claimed the tournament title in its only lone showing back in 2013 with an event record low 54-hole score of 18-under par 846, while former golfer Cory Whitsett claimed medalist honors with a 208.
Eight teams in the 14-team field are ranked among the top-25 of the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Six of the eight ranked teams are among the top-10 squads in the nation, highlighted by No. 1-ranked Oklahoma State and No. 2 Texas A&M, who is serving as the host team this weekend.
In addition to the Crimson Tide, other ranked teams include No. 7 Texas Tech, No. 9 Baylor, No. 10 LSU, No. 21 Arkansas and No. 25 Kent State. Joining those teams will be Denver, Houston, Michigan, New Mexico, New Mexico State and North Texas.
Alabama's five-man lineup will be the same as its last event when it claimed the Linger Longer Invitational team title on March 20. The Tide's lineup is led by a pair of players ranked among the top-10 in the most recent Golfstat.com individual rankings. Junior Davis Riley enters the event ranked No. 8 in the nation, while senior Lee Hodges checks in at No. 10 nationally. Hodges captured medalist honors at the Linger Longer Invitational, which led to him earning SEC Golfer of the Week accolades on March 21.
Senior Jonathan Hardee and freshmen Davis Shore and Wilson Furr will also compete for the Tide.
Alabama is scheduled to begin play at 8:40 a.m. CT on Hole No. 1, and will be paired alongside Baylor and Texas Tech.
