Alabama Track & Field Travels to Florida for Tom Jones Invitational Friday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's track & field teams will travel to Gainesville, Fla. this weekend for the University of Florida's Tom Jones Invitational, Friday, April 13. Field events will get underway at 10 a.m. CT with running events starting at 11 a.m. CT.
Alabama in USTFCCCA Rankings
The Alabama men's track & field team is No. 8, while the Crimson Tide women check in at No. 22 in the first regular season U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor rankings, released April 9.
Head Coach Dan Waters Outlook
"I was encouraged by the number of strong performances last weekend given the conditions," Alabama head coach Dan Waters said. "It was tough day to compete but we battled through it. This week will be another good test for us against some top-level competition."
Next Week
The Crimson Tide will send a contingent of distance runners to the Bay Area to compete in Stanford University's Cardinal Classic, April 20-21 in Palo Alto, Calif. The remainder of the Alabama squad will visit Auburn for the War Eagle Invitational on April 20.
