The Crimson Tide heads to Knoxville to face No. 38 Tennessee on March 31 at noon CT

ATHENS, Ga. – The Alabama women's tennis team fell on the road to the eighth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs, 4-0, Thursday night at the Magill Tennis Complex in Athens.

UGA started the match with a pair of wins in doubles to take the one-point advantage heading into singles play. The Bulldog pairing of Shaffer/Goulak topped freshman Kylie Moulin and sophomore Jacqueline Pelletier, 6-2, at No. 3, while Georgia's ninth-ranked tandem in the country, Jokic/Gould, defeated sophomores Alba Cortina-Pou and Ann Selim, 6-4, at No. 2.

In singles, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead after winning back-to-back matches at No. 5 and No. 6. On court six, No. 110 Morgan Coppoc took down Moulin, 6-1, 6-3, to extend UGA's advantage by two, then Mariana Gould defeated Cortina-Pou, 6-3, 6-0, on court five to lift Georgia to a three-point lead.

For the win, UGA's sixth-ranked singles player in the nation, Katarina Jokic, defeated junior Andie Daniell at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3.

The Crimson Tide drops to 13-11 on the season and 0-8 in SEC play, while the Bulldogs improve to 11-4 and 6-2 in league competition.

Up next, Alabama will head to Knoxville, Tenn. to face No. 38 Tennessee on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
