Former Alabama players provide solid performances on both sides of the ball
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 13th week of the 2018-19 season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from week 13 by former Crimson Tide players currently playing in the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans duo of Derrick Henry and Rashaan Evans each contributed big performances in the team's 26-22 comeback win over the New York Jets on Sunday. Henry carried the ball 10 times for 40 yards and recorded one rushing score, while Evans was dominant on the defensive side of the ball, totaling a team-leading eight tackles.
Another former Crimson Tide duo helped the Miami Dolphins to a 21-17 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Running back Kenyan Drake carried seven times for 31 yards and added two receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown through the air. On the defensive side of the ball, rookie safety Minkah Fitzpatrick tallied five tackles and broke up two passes to help Miami improve to 5-1 at home this season.
The Giants pulled off an upset win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday by a score of 30-27. The New York defense was led by Dalvin Tomlinson and Landon Collins, with Tomlinson contributing a season-high seven tackles while Collins followed close behind with five stops, including one for a loss.
Also having a standout day on the defensive side of the ball was Jarran Reed. The Seahawk defensive tackle recorded a sack and an impressive six quarterback hurries in Seattle's 43-16 blowout win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Amari Cooper continued his impressive stretch since joining the Dallas Cowboys, grabbing a game-leading eight passes, as Dallas defeated the New Orleans Saints, 13-10. Cooper finished the game with 75 receiving yards and has collected 424 total yards in five games since joining his new team.
