ATLANTA, Ga. – For the third year in a row, the Southeastern Conference held its Career Tour in Atlanta in the days leading up to the SEC Football Championship Game.
This year, Alabama was represented by Alize Ford from men's track and field and Chloe Maize from soccer. The Crimson Tide duo, along with representatives from the other 13 SEC schools, visited several Atlanta-area corporations, including UPS, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, The Home Depot and the Atlanta Hawks, meeting with executives from each company.
"The SEC Career Tour allowed me to learn incredibly valuable skills about career, leadership and personal development from top professionals in the industry," Maize said afterwards. "It also showed me how many opportunities are awaiting post-graduation where I can make a difference. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of a conference that cares about its athletes in all aspects of life."
The career tour also included dinner with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and presentations by Josh Foliart, co-founder and CEO of the MULTIPLi Global, and Randy Hain, founder and president of Serviam Partners. Former SEC student-athletes were also on hand, discussing how the SEC Career Tour helped them during their job search process.
"I gained a lot of invaluable information and had fun while doing it," Ford said of the event. "The employers really drove home the importance of networking and that as student-athletes we shouldn't be scared to apply for a job just because we don't have as much work experience as other people."
