Former Alabama players provide solid performances on both sides of the ball
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 16th week of the 2018-19 season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from week 16 by former Crimson Tide standouts currently playing in the NFL.
Mark Ingram II set the Saints' franchise record for career rushing touchdowns with his one score in New Orleans' 31-28 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The eighth-year back's 50th career touchdown was part of his 35 yards on 11 carries for the day to help the Saints clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC Playoffs. Also contributing on offense was rookie wideout Calvin Ridley. The Falcons' first-round pick from a season ago caught three passes for a team-leading 90 yards with a touchdown in Atlanta's 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers.
The defensive side of the ball saw three former standouts set new career-high totals for tackles. Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Reggie Ragland accumulated 10 tackles with one for a loss on Sunday. Also achieving a new career-high total for tackles was Levi Wallace, with the Buffalo Bills' corner recording eight stops. Joining him was Tony Brown, who racked up six tackles in the Green Bay Packers' 44-38 overtime win against the New York Jets. Fellow defensive back Marlon Humphrey helped seal the Ravens' 22-10 win over the San Diego Chargers with an interception in the end zone to secure the win. The second-year defensive back added three tackles and a pair of pass defenses in Baltimore's winning effort.
