
Alabama Finishes Up Play at ITA Southern Regional Championships

The Crimson Tide will play next when it hosts the annual Roberta Alison Classic starting on Friday, Oct. 26
OXFORD, Miss. – The Alabama women's tennis team finished up play at the ITA Southern Regional Championships in Oxford, Miss., on Sunday.
Senior Andie Daniell and sophomore Moka Ito dropped a hard-fought match in the semifinals of the doubles draw, against No. 31 Bortles/de Jong (Ole Miss), 6-2, 7-6(5).
In singles, No. 70 Daniell fell in the quarterfinals to No. 53 Sabina Machalova (Ole Miss), 7-6(5), 6-2. In consolation play, junior Jacqueline Pelletier suffered a narrow defeat to Ivone Alvaro (Tulane), 6-1, 3-6, 13-11.
Next up for the Tide is the annual Roberta Alison Classic hosted by Alabama beginning on Friday, Oct. 26. In this year's classic, UA will be wearing pink all throughout the tournament to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
