TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's track & field teams travel to Clemson, S.C. for the Bob Pollock Invitational, Jan. 26-27, at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex. Alabama will enter 26 men and 27 women across 24 individual events and will compete in the men's and women's 4x400 and men's distance medley relays.
Other teams scheduled to compete include Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
Alabama in the National Rankings
The Alabama men's track & field team is ranked No. 5, while the Crimson Tide women are No. 16 in the first U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regular-season indoor rankings released Jan. 22.
The Tide men jumped four spots from their preseason No. 9 ranking after two solid season-opening performances at the UAB Blazer Invitational Jan. 12 and the Vanderbilt Invitational Jan. 19-20.Â
Alabama climbed six spots from No. 20 to No. 14 in the women's rankings, fueled primarily by strong showings in the field events and relays over the first two weeks of the season.
Alabama among NCAA Leaders
Entering this weekend, Alabama currently has 10 athletes (six men, four women) ranked in the top 16 in eight events, which would earn them qualification into the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships March 9-10 in College Station, Texas. In addition to the 10 individuals, the Tide men's and women's 4x400-meter relays and women's distance medley relay are nationally ranked as well.

Head Coach Dan Waters Outlook
"We've had a couple of pretty solid performances to open the season. We need to carry that momentum into this weekend and continue to improve. Even though this is only our third meet, we're already at the mid-point of the indoor regular season so we need to be hitting our stride against some pretty good competition at Clemson."
Next Week - New Mexico Classic
The Crimson Tide will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the New Mexico Classic, Feb. 2-3, at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
