Thibault Cancel Begins Fall Season at Oracle ITA Masters Tournament

MALIBU, Calif. – Alabama sophomore Thibault Cancel is set to open the fall season at the Oracle ITA Masters tournament held at the Malibu Racket Club and Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., on Thursday.
The Toulouse, France, native earned an at-large bid to the Oracle ITA Masters tournament, which features 32 of the top players in the country.
Cancel was placed as the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will take on the No. 25 seed, Kennosuke Nouchi (Western Michigan) at a time to be announced on Thursday.
The sophomore will also play in a mixed doubles match on Thursday at 10 a.m. CT, when he and partner Viktoriya Dzyuba (Lipscomb) take on Jessica Livianu (St. John's) and Luka Sucevic (St. John's).
Cancel came in as the No. 72 player in the country, according to the ITA Preseason Singles rankings that were announced two weeks ago and will look to improve his ranking throughout the fall season.
