Alabama Softball Ranked No. 15 and 16 in Week 13 National Polls

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball heads into this week's SEC Tournament ranked No. 15 in the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 16 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, released Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide dropped one spot in each poll from last week. Last week, Alabama fell twice to Auburn before rebounding with a 3-2 win on Sunday. The Tide is now 40-15 overall and 12-11 in conference play. Alabama is also ranked No. 14 in the NCAA RPI, released Monday.
Alabama is one of 10 SEC schools ranked in this week's top 25. All 13 SEC teams are either ranked or receiving votes in at least one poll. Ranked SEC teams include Florida (1/1), Auburn (7/8), Tennessee (9/7), Texas A&M (11/11), Alabama (15/16), Kentucky (18/18), Ole Miss (19/19), LSU (21/21), South Carolina (24/23) and Georgia (25/RV). Mississippi State, Arkansas and Missouri are each receiving votes outside the top 25.
This week, Alabama opens postseason play at the 2017 SEC Softball Tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. The fifth-seeded Crimson Tide will face No. 12 seed Arkansas on Wednesday, May 10 at 11 a.m. CT on SEC Network.
