Alabama Football Q&A: Calvin Ridley

RollTide.com will be posting Q&As with members of the Alabama football team so fans can get to know the student-athletes competing for the Crimson Tide. This week, we visit with wide receiver Calvin Ridley. The Coconut Grove, Fla., native earned Freshman All-America honors in his debut 2015 season and was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2016.
What is the most challenging aspect of your position?
Calvin Ridley: Having to dig out a safety who is already down in the box.
Who were some players you looked up to when you were a kid?
CR: I liked Antonio Brown a lot.
What is your favorite Coach Saban memory?
CR: Two years ago at the national championship game, I was standing right next to Coach Saban when we kicked the onside kick. He started smiling and it was great.
What is your favorite Alabama football tradition?
CR: The Walk of Champions.
What is the best thing about being on this team?
CR: It's fun. It's family. To be able to build relationships with all the guys on the team is a lot of fun. We go through a lot together.
What is your favorite class you've taken at Alabama?
CR: My favorite class was criminal justice because I liked learning about different court cases.
If you weren't a football player, you would be….?
CR: I would probably be an actor.
