Alabama Women’s Tennis Highlighted in Weekly ITA Rankings

The Crimson Tide has two singles players and a doubles tandem that are nationally ranked
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team earned a No. 38 national ranking, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday. The Crimson Tide (8-16, 2-12 SEC) also has two singles players and a doubles tandem that are nationally ranked.
Alabama boasts 54 wins in singles play since beginning the dual match season and 31 victories in doubles.
Senior Erin Routliffe moved up one spot to earn a No. 14 ranking in singles after compiling 13 wins since beginning the spring season with all of her matches coming from the top position, which ranks second on the team. Routliffe has registered seven wins over nationally ranked singles opponents and five victories over nationally ranked doubles opponents this year.
Sophomore Andie Daniell achieved a No. 116 ranking in singles in this week's set of rankings. Daniell has collected 14 wins in singles since the start of the dual match season, which ranks first on the team. She also has four wins over nationally ranked singles opponents this year.
Routliffe and freshman Maddie Pothoff jumped three spots to earn a No. 5 national ranking in doubles play after posting 13 wins since the start of the spring season with all matches coming from the No. 1 spot.
Last weekend, the Tide lost a 4-0 decision to the Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the 2017 SEC Tournament.
