Alabama Men’s Golf Team Set for Desert Mountain Intercollegiate Debut

Tide tees off second tournament of the spring season on Saturday morning
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's golf team will return to action this weekend as it competes at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, which will be played in Scottsdale, Ariz., and hosted by the University of Michigan. The two-day, 54-hole event will be held on the par 72, 7,107-yard Outlaw Course.
The 12-team tournament will consist 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. Scoring will be five players and the lowest four scores.
The Crimson Tide will tee off Saturday's opening at 9 a.m. CT, with the second round set to begin at 2 p.m. CT. Live scoring will be available for fans on Golfstat.com
Tournament Field – Alabama, Indiana, Kansas, Marquette, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, Saint Mary's, San Diego, Tennessee, Utah, Washington State.
Crimson Tide Lineup – Jonathan Hardee, Lee Hodges, Steven Setterstrom, Tyler Hitchner, Dru Love. Josh Sedeno will compete as an individual.
Last Time Out – The Crimson Tide opened its spring season in the Puerto Rico Classic, held in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Alabama closing the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a team total of 889 (296-297-296) to place 13th overall. Alabama was forced to compete without the services of 2016 All-American Davis Riley, who only played the first three holes of the opening round before withdrawing from the tournament due to an injury. Riley will not compete at this weekend's event.
Junior Jonathan Hardee led Alabama as he tied for 20th overall with an even par 216. Junior Steven Setterstrom also had a solid tournament, closing play tied for 29th overall with a 3-over 219.
