Alabama Swimming and Diving Splits Crimson and White Intrasquad

Team Crimson won the women’s side of the meet while Team White won the men’s competition
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama swimming and diving team split the second Crimson and White Intrasquad of the season in an early morning competition Saturday, with Team Crimson winning the women's race, while Team White won the men's competition.
Freshman Leonie Kullmann, junior Justine Macfarlane and senior Hannah Musser led Team Crimson to a 177-99 win with two individual wins apiece. Kullmann won the 200 freestyle and 400 individual medley, while Macfarlane won the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and Musser won the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.
Swimming for Team Crimson, sophomore Cameron Brown won the 1,650 freestyle, senior Paige Matherson won the 200 butterfly, senior Lindsay Morrow took top honors on the 50 freestyle and senior Temarie Tomley won the 100 freestyle.
For the Team White, sophomore Alexis Preski won the 200 individual medley, junior Sarah Helm won the 200 backstroke and freshman Lydia Jackson won the 500 freestyle.
On the men's side of the meet, senior Luke Kaliszak led Team White to a 150-121 win after posting individual wins in the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 backstroke. Also leading the way for Team White was junior Laurent Bams, who won the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Also picking up individual wins for Team White were sophomore Wyatt Harrison (1,650 freestyle), junior Evan Heldman (200 freestyle), senior Will Freeman (500 freestyle) and freshman Michael Burris (400 individual medley).
Leading the way for Team Crimson, sophomore Zane Waddell won the 100 backstroke and 100 freestye, while senior Taylor Charles touched first in the 200 butterfly.
Team Crimson swept both the men's and women's relays. For the women, junior Katie Kelsoe, Macfarlane, Musser and Morrow won the 200 medley relay while Morrow, Kelsoe, Musser and Tomley won the 200 freestyle. For the men, sophomore Christopher Staka, senior Braxton Young, Waddell and junior Robert Howard won the 200 medley relay, while Waddell, Staka, freshman Tyler Sesvold and Howard won the 200 freestyle to close the meet.
Saturday marked the Crimson Tide's final competition prior to next week's final exams, which will be followed by its winter training camps.
