Alabama Women’s Basketball Continues Road Swing at TCU on Friday

Crimson Tide and Horned Frogs meeting as part of 2017 Big 12/SEC Challenge
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team (4-2) is back in action on Friday, slated to take on TCU (5-1) in Fort Worth as part of the 2017 Big 12/SEC Challenge. The game will tip at 12 p.m. CT in the Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena.
THE BROADCAST
• Friday's game will air live on Fox Sports Southwest.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the call.
OPENING TIP
• Alabama will play its fourth consecutive game away from Tuscaloosa on Friday when it takes on TCU in Fort Worth. The Crimson Tide has gone 1-2 during the stretch with a win at Georgia Southern and losses to No. 23 NC State and Elon in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
• Today's game is part of the 2017 Big 12/SEC Challenge. In last year's challenge, Alabama defeated Kansas in Tuscaloosa, 71-65, to help the SEC win the trophy.
• The Crimson Tide is led in scoring by senior Hannah Cook, who averages 14.2 points per game. Senior Ashley Williams leads the way on the boards with 7.7 rebounds per game, while senior Meoshonti Knight dishes out a team-best 2.7 assists per contest.
• Sophomore Ashley Knight heads into Friday's game ranked second in the SEC and 10th nationally in overall blocks (19) and blocks per game (3.17).
SCOUTING TCU
• TCU stands at 5-1 entering Friday's game after winning the Warner Center Marriott Thanksgiving Classic in Northridge, Calif. The Horned Frogs beat Arizona, 68-59, and Idaho, 88-76, to capture the tournament title.
• Last time out against the Vandals, TCU knocked down 11 three-pointers, nine of which came in the first half.
• Junior Amy Okonkwo earned MVP honors at the tournament following her 22-point, 11-rebound performance against Idaho and 12 points versus the Wildcats.
• Junior Jordan Moore leads the team in scoring with a season average of 15.7 points per game. She also is tops in rebounding with 5.8 boards per contest.
• As a team, TCU is 78.4 percent from the free throw line, which leads the Big 12 and ranks 16th in the nation.
COOK, WILLIAMS AND KNIGHT ALL 1,000 POINT SCORERS
• Senior Meoshonti Knight joined fellow classmates Hannah Cook and Ashley Williams in the 1,000 Point Club after her 14-point performance against Elon on Nov. 24.
• This is the first season in program history that Alabama has had three 1,000 point scorers on its team at the same time.
