"We're not getting off to very good starts," said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry. "In the first quarter we got down, and in the third we got down. We've got to do something, whether it is adjust our lineup or have more of a sense of urgency starting. We're not starting halves very well. At the end of the day, we've got to put the group out there that we feel will get us off to a better start. Our energy to start the third quarter was like it was to start the first half. We've got to go back and get better."
TCU got off to a 12-4 start in the third quarter and would end up scoring 33 points in the frame to take a 64-42 lead. Alabama put up the first seven points of the fourth in under 90 seconds, but the two teams would go on to trade baskets for the duration.
The Tide was led in scoring by senior Ashley Williams, who finished with 14 points. Fellow senior Quanetria Bolton chipped in 11 points, two rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals. The Frogs had three in double figures, led by junior Jordan Moore's 19-point performance.
