Alabama Rowing Concludes Fall Slate Saturday at Home Against UCF

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After three successful road outings over the past month, Alabama rowing will wrap up its fall slate in Tuscaloosa Saturday against UCF.
The Crimson Tide and the Knights will compete in a total of 25 races, split between 10 2,500-meter pieces and 15 1,500-meter pieces. Two series of five 2,500-meter races will begin at 7:30 a.m. CT and run for approximately two hours. Upon completion and a short break, the teams will resume racing with three series of five 1,500-meter races.
Alabama brings plenty of positive momentum into Saturday's race thanks to a trio of successful outings over the previous month. Over this fall's three regattas, the Tide earned six gold medals and 11 top-three finishes, including its first ever gold at the prestigious Head of the Charles in Boston. Most recently, Alabama put together a strong team showing at last weekend's Head of the Hooch regatta, earning gold in the Open 8+ along with silver in the Championship 2x and bronze in both the Championship 8+ and Open 8+.
Saturday's races will conclude the fall schedule for Alabama. The Crimson Tide will begin its spring season in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Feb. 24 against Eastern Michigan.
