Alabama Men’s Tennis Faces Michigan on ESPN3 in College MatchDay Series

Crimson Tide opens inaugural 2017 College MatchDay series against No. 21 Michigan at 5 p.m. CT
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team will travel to Lake Nona, Fla., on Saturday, Jan. 21, to take on the 21st-ranked Michigan Wolverines in the inaugural 2017 College MatchDay series at the USTA National Campus at 5 p.m. CT. Saturday's match marks the Crimson Tide's lone contest of the weekend.
A total of six matches will be held at the National Campus' 1,200-seated collegiate stadium – beginning with Alabama vs. Michigan. All matches at the event will be streamed live on ESPN3 through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
Additionally, talent such as Patrick McEnroe, former Wimbledon finalist MaliVai Washington, Prim Siripipat and Kevin Corke will call the action on ESPN3.
Admission is free for each College MatchDay at the USTA National Campus, which will feature a free kids clinic, live music, specialty food and drinks, games and giveaways on-site at the National Campus, which features the first, off-campus stadium built specifically for college tennis.
Last weekend, the Tide topped East Tennessee State, 4-2, and blanked in-state foe Samford, 4-0, in a doubleheader to officially begin the 2017 spring season. Alabama tallied six singles victories and four doubles wins combined.
Saturday's contest marks the first for the Wolverines this season. Michigan's Kevin Wong enters the 2017 season nationally ranked No. 50 in singles play, while Wong and Jathan Malik enter the season nationally No. 6 in doubles play.
