HONOLULU - Former Alabama golfer Justin Thomas is making national headlines once again. Fresh off winning the SBS Tournament of Champions in Maui last week, Thomas continued to stay hot by firing a career-best round of 59 in the opening 18 holes of the Sony Open on Thursday.
Thomas became just the eighth player in PGA Tour history to shoot a sub-60 round and, at 23 years of age, is the youngest player ever to do so.
Thanks to his recent hot streak, Thomas has climbed the world rankings to No. 12.
