
Alabama Men’s Golf Set to Compete at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational

Crimson Tide will play in second tournament in as many weeks
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team will compete in its second tournament in as many weeks when it travels to Olympia Fields, Ill., to compete in the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational. The tournament will take place Sept. 16-18 at the famed Olympia Field Country Club North Course, a par-70, 7,205-yard track that has hosted two U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, five Western Opens and a U.S. Senior Open among other high-level tournaments.
The Crimson Tide lineup will be led by sophomore Davis Riley playing in the No. 1 spot, followed by junior Lee Hodges at No. 2. Redshirt freshman Josh Sedeno, who competed at last week's Carpet Capital Collegiate as an individual, cracked this week's lineup in the No. 3 position, while juniors Tyler Hitchner and Steven Setterstrom round out Alabama's starting five.
This year's tournament boasts another competitive field, featuring seven teams ranked in the preseason Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. Tournament host Illinois checks in at No. 3 on the list, and the field also includes No. 1 Texas, No. 2 USC, No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 16 Alabama, No. 18 Florida State, No. 19 Arizona State, No. 24 Baylor, Army, Indiana, UNLV, North Carolina, Northwestern, Purdue and Texas A&M.
