Alabama Athletics Opens 2016-17 with Crimson Tide Kickoff Mixer

More than 100 newcomers joined the Alabama Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the annual Crimson Tide Kickoff Mixer Sunday night in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The group was joined by UA Director of Athletics Bill Battle, Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator Marie Robbins and Associate Athletics Director for Student Services Jon Dever as well as the entire Center for Athletics Student Services Staff.
Everyone shared a meal and while the Tide rookies learned more about what it means to be "Built by Bama" as well as the different resources at their disposal. SAAC President Caroline Korst, along with other veteran student-athletes, spoke to the assembly on varying topics. The freshmen and transfers also got the chance to get to know their fellow student-athletes from other teams.
A group photo was also on the agenda before everyone headed over to the Alabama Soccer Stadium to cheer the Tide soccer team on to a 4-2 victory over Murray State. Hosted by SAAC (@UA_SAAC), the mixer was put on by Alabama's Life Skills (@BamaLifeSkills) program.
