Crimson Tide Finish with No. 1 Recruiting Class in 2016

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama announced that 17 student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to play football with the Crimson Tide Wednesday, joining eight players who enrolled at the Capstone in January and will compete in spring practice later this semester.
The 25 total players, including eight mid-year enrollees, come from 12 states and Washington, D.C. (1) -- Alabama (7), Texas (4), Mississippi (3), Louisiana (2), Connecticut (1), Georgia (1), Florida (1), California (1), North Carolina (1), Maryland (1), Michigan (1), Oklahoma (1).
As of 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Alabama's 2016 signing class ranked No. 1 nationally by 247Sports, Rivals and Scout, while ranking No. 2 by ESPN
As listed by position, the Crimson Tide add to their roster five offensive linemen, five linebackers, four defensive backs, four defensive linemen, two running backs, two wide receivers, two tight ends and one quarterback.
The January enrollees include junior college OL Charles Baldwin (Windsor, Conn./ASA College), LB Christian Bell (Hoover, Ala./Hoover), TE Miller Forristall (Cartersville, Ga./Cartersville), QB Jalen Hurts (Channelview, Texas/Channelview), LB Shawn Jennings (Dadeville, Ala./Dadeville), OL Chris Owens (Arlington, Texas/Arlington), WR T.J. Simmons (Pinson, Ala./Clay-Chalkville) and OL Jonah Williams (Folsom, Calif./Folsom).
The Crimson Tide had eight players enroll in the spring of 2014 and 2015, seven in 2013, seven in 2012, nine in 2011, 11 in 2010 and four in 2009.
