
Crimson Tide in the NFL Spotlight: Week 8

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Below is a look at some of the highlights from last week by former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Amari Cooper set a new career mark in both catches and receiving yards, hauling in 12 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown in the Oakland Raiders' 30-24 overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the midway point of the season, Cooper has 52 catches for 787 yards and two touchdowns. He currently ranks second among wideouts in yards after the catch (295) and is third in both receiving yards (787) and receptions (52).
Derrick Henry enjoyed the best game of his young career, setting a career-high in both carries (16) and rushing yards (60) as the Tennessee Titans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 36-22. The Heisman Trophy winner also recorded his first NFL touchdown on a six-yard run early in the second quarter.
A'Shawn Robinson set a new personal mark with four tackles, including his second career sack, in the Detroit Lions' 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans.
A pair of former Crimson Tide teammates met in Buffalo, as Marcell Dareus welcomed the New England Patriots and Don't'a Hightower to town. Hightower once again led the Patriots' defense in tackles, notching six total stops in a 41-25 victory over the Bills. Making his 2016 season debut, Dareus showed why he is regarded as one of the top defensive linemen in the league, finishing with four tackles, including a sack and another tackle for loss.
Julio Jones made an impact away from the ball for the Atlanta Falcons, catching three passes for 29 yards while demanding double-coverage throughout the team's 33-32 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Widely considered the top pass-catcher in the league, Jones has grabbed 43 passes for 859 yards and four touchdowns. The All-Pro receiver currently ranks second among wideouts in receiving yards (859) and third in yards after the catch (291).
