
Krystal Rivers and Leah Lawrence Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Alabama volleyball senior Krystal Rivers and junior Leah Lawrence were both voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team it was announced Thursday.
The pair gives the Crimson Tide 19 Academic All-District awards in program history, including five over the last four seasons. It is Rivers' second career award, previously winning in 2014, while it is the first for Lawrence. Alabama is the only Division I team in District 4 to post multiple award winners, a district that covers schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
Rivers owns a 3.65 cumulative GPA as a Spanish major and has started 23 of the team's 24 matches so far this season. She leads the team and the SEC with 551 kills and is just 96 kills shy of tying Alabama's career record. Lawrence owns a 3.98 cumulative GPA as an accounting major and has stuffed a team-leading 83 blocks over 24 appearances this season.
Both student-athletes now advance to the national ballot with a chance to earn Academic All-American honors later this season.
