Alabama Women’s Tennis Doubles Pair Clinches 2016 ITA Southern Regional Championship

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's tennis' No. 34 nationally ranked doubles pair in senior Erin Routliffe and sophomore Andie Daniell won in straight sets to clinch the 2016 ITA Southern Regional Doubles Championship at the Alabama Tennis Stadium on Monday.
In the first frame, the brilliant duo held each of their own serves and broke every one of Ole Miss' Natalie Suk and Anna Vrbenska to sweep the frame, 6-0. The rhythm continued for the couple in the second set, as Routliffe and Daniell held a 5-0 lead before the Ole Miss duo collected their first game of the match. Routliffe and Daniell went on to clinch the match victory in the next game, ending the match score at 6-0, 6-1.
The win marks the second consecutive year that Routliffe and Daniell have claimed the ITA Southern Regional Doubles Championships. With the victory, the duo earns automatic entry into the 2016 ITA National Collegiate Indoor Championships, which will be played at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., on Nov. 3-6.
