Alabama Softball Rounds Out 2016 Class Signing Claire Jenkins

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama softball signed its fourth and final NLI for the early signing period, adding middle infielder Claire Jenkins of Cullman, Ala.
"Claire is very talented both offensively and defensively," head coach Patrick Murphy said. "She will be a great addition to the Alabama softball family."
Jenkins is a senior at Cullman High School, who placed fourth in last season's 6A state championships. For her performance in the championships, she was named to the 6A All-Tournament team and was later named the 2015 Area Player of the Year. She is a two-time All-State and All-Area honoree and was named the 2014 All-Area Hitter of the Year. She was named to AL.com's 2015 Softball Super All-State Team and is listed on FloSoftball's 'Hot 100' list for the class of 2016. She plays club softball with the Birmingham Thunderbolts under coach Richard Shea.
She is the fourth player to sign with Alabama so far during the early signing period, joining catcher Bailey Hemphill, utility player Gabrielle Callaway and utility player Elissa Brown.
She is the daughter of Rodney and Martha Jenkins and has one sister, Jennifer.
