TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama softball has signed Elissa Brown of Eclectic, Ala., to a national letter of intent, announced Friday.
"Elissa is one of the fastest kids we have signed in 20 years," head coach Patrick Murphy said. "She is going to be very exciting to watch at Alabama."
Brown is a standout at Elmore County High School, where she was recently named the 2015 South All-Star team MVP this past season after leading her team to 4A area and regional titles. She is the third player to sign with Alabama so far during the early signing period, joining catcher Bailey Hemphill and utility player Gabrielle Callaway.
She is the daughter of Primus and Tara Brown and has one sister, Courtney Guary.
