"The more experience the freshmen get in the fall, the better they're going to be in the spring," UA coach Patrick Murphy said. "We always say if you're going to fail, you're going to fail aggressively. So we want them to be really aggressive on the bases."
The Crimson Tide has five freshmen a roster that numbers 18. The Tide's roster also includes three pitchers, all of which saw action on Sunday.
"It's good for the pitchers and the freshmen get to see live pitching," Murphy said. "You can't say enough good things about getting to play. The eight fall games for us, it's a lot for the fans, and it's great for our new kids."
Alabama finishes out its fall season next weekend with two days of Fall Brawl action. The Tide will play a double header against Belhaven on Saturday (Oct. 25) at 1 p.m. and another double header Sunday (Oct. 26) against West Alabama at 1:30 p.m.
