TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Memphis Tigers beat the Chattanooga Mocs 4-1, to close out game one of the 2011 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional.
Memphis scored all its runs in the top of the third inning with five hits converting to four runs, while Chattanooga closed the gap by one in the bottom of the fourth. Carly Hummel picked up the win for Memphis, pushing her record to 21-6, while Nikki Waters took the loss for Chattanooga, falling to 13-4.
Memphis returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. against the winner of tonight's Alabama-Jackson State game. Chattanooga faces the loser of tonight's contest in an elimination game Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
