Crimson Tide Making Progress in Bowl Prep

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team held its fourth practice of bowl preparation Saturday afternoon in full pads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in anticipation of its January 1 game against No. 7 Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl.

Having practiced four times since Thursday, head coach Nick Saban has used the opening practices to stress fundamentals before implementing the game plan for the Spartans beginning on Sunday.

"We've made quite a bit of progress in four practices over the last three days now," Saban said following Saturday's practice. "I always think that fourth practice, especially after practicing twice yesterday, is sort the hump day for everybody to get through psychologically. Tomorrow we will start working on some against Michigan State stuff, which I'm sure the players are looking forward to."

Alabama will close out the opening week of bowl practice on Sunday. The Tide will practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to conclude its practices in Tuscaloosa before traveling to Orlando on Dec. 25.
