Crimson Tide In the Polls

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - A total of 10 University of Alabama athletic teams have been ranked in the top 25 during the 2010 calendar year highlighted by the football program's five weeks at No. 1 in both polls. Additionally, five other programs have been ranked in the top 10 nationally including the top-ranked women's golf team. Below is a summary of each team's rankings this year in the national polls.
Baseball
Finished the season ranked 16th in the final Baseball America poll of the season after falling one game shy of advancing the College World Series.
Men's Cross Country
Ranked No. 5 in the preseason poll and held that ranking for the first five weeks of the season before dropping to No. 24.
Football
Currently ranked No. 8 after spending five weeks ranked No. 1 following its national championship run.
Men's Golf
Currently ranked No. 4 by the coaches association and No. 6 in the performance rankings.
Women's Golf
Ranked No. 1 in the nation after spending the spring season ranked in the top-10 and finishing third at the NCAA Championships
Gymnastics
Finished third at the NCAA Championships and spent seven weeks as the No. 1 team in the coaches' association rankings.
Softball
Was ranked No. 8/9 in the final polls of the 2010 season and earned a No. 2 preseason ranking to open the year.
Men's Swimming & Diving
Finished the 2010 season ranked 20th by the CSCAA.
Men's Track & Field
Was 23rd in the final rankings of 2010 based on its finish at the NCAA Championships.
Women's Track & Field
Was 20th in the final ranking of 2010 based on its finish at the NCAA Championships.
