DALLAS - For the second consecutive season the University of Alabama will be represented in the NBA All-Star game as former Crimson Tide standout Gerald Wallace has been named to the 2010 NBA Eastern Conference All-Star Team.
Wallace, the Bobcats’ first All-Star representative, earned the selection after averaging 18.6 points and 11.0 rebounds while leading the league in minutes this season.
A native of Childersburg, Ala., Wallace is the fourth former Alabama player to appear on an NBA All-Star roster. He joins Mo Williams (2009), Antonio McDyess (2001) and four-time All-Star Latrell Sprewell (1994, 95, 91, 2001). He is also one of four Southeastern Conference representatives on the Eastern Conference roster this season.
Wallace played one season (2000-01) at the Capstone and earned SEC All-Freshman honors after averaging 9.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He and his fellow Eastern Conference All-Star teammates will face the Western Division’s best on February 14, at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.
