- Alabama earned its 19th run rule victory of the season by defeating MVSU 12-3 in five innings Friday night.
- The run-rule victory is the fifth in regional play for Alabama and the third against Mississippi Valley State in the postseason. The other two run-rule wins over MVSU came in 2005 and 2006.
- Alabama has now won 15 out of its last 16 games. The streak started against Kentucky when the Crimson Tide swept the doubleheader on April 14.
- Over the last 16 games junior Charlotte Morgan batted .500 (19-for-38) with three home runs and 15 RBI. Ashley Holcombe closely follows with a .487 average, adding a team-leading five home runs and 26 RBI. Alabama pitchers sport a 0.98 ERA in 100 innings over that span.
