TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama soccer team concluded its home slate with a 2-0 loss to Auburn Friday night at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. Three seniors donned the Crimson Tide uniform for the last time in front of the home crowd. After the day Alabama moves to 6-10-1 overall and 2-7-1 in Southeastern Conference play while Auburn improves to 9-7-3 on the season and 6-5-0 in league play.

"I certainly appreciate the efforts of our seniors," Alabama head coach Todd Bramble said. "It is definitely disappointing when you lose to Auburn in anything. We have nothing to lose at this point and just have to play for pride against Ole Miss on Sunday."

Rebecca Howell started the scoring for the Tigers as she followed up her own shot in the 23rd minute and eventually found the back of the net near post. Off a corner kick Howell collected the cross and then one timed a shot that caromed back to her and was able to possess and shoot for her eighth goal on the season.

Auburn added its final tally in the 30th minute when Katy Frierson found the back of the net from 40 yards out. After crossing the midline Frierson took advantage of Alabama goalkeeper Justine Bernier being off her line and fired the long shot over her head and in for the final score of the night.

The Tigers out-shot the Crimson Tide 25-12 with Howell leading the way with nine shots, putting five on frame. In her final match in Tuscaloosa, Grace Lawson fired off three shots and put all three on goal.

Lawson nearly gave Alabama the early lead in the 10th minute when she made a nice turn with her back to goal but Auburn keeper Amy Howard dove to her right and made a spectacular save.

Bernier made nine saves on the night while Howard recorded her sixth shutout on the season on the strength of five saves. On top of Lawson, Alex Butera and Kelsey King suited up for the last time at home.

Alabama will conclude its season in Oxford, Miss., when the Crimson Tide face off against the Mississippi Rebels in a makeup match on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 p.m.
